Sell 3D prints on Etsy? Give customers a live colour catalogue
If you sell printed products on Etsy or a similar marketplace, you know the colour problem. The listing says "available in 24 colours", the buyer picks salmon pink, and you discover the spool died last Tuesday. Now you are writing an awkward message and hoping they accept teal instead.
The listing is static. Your shelf is not. SpoolShare gives the shelf a URL.
A public page as your colour menu
Pages in SpoolShare can be public: anyone with the link sees every visible spool on them - no account, no sign-in. That turns a page into a live colour menu for your shop:
- Add your production spools to SpoolShare (autofill from the shop link does most of the typing).
- Create a page, for example "ShopName - colours in stock", and switch it to public.
- Put the link in your Etsy listing, shop announcement or FAQ: "Current colours: see the live catalogue."
When a spool runs out, hide it - it disappears from the page the same second. When a colour is reserved for a big order, mark it taken and buyers see that too. No listing edits, no photo re-uploads.
Colours that look like the real thing
Spools render as true-colour rings, sorted by hue like a palette. A gradient PLA looks like a gradient; a 50/50 dual looks split.
