Paste a link, get the spool - how SpoolShare autofill works
Typing "Prusament PLA Galaxy Black 1 kg" into a form is nobody's hobby. So the Add spool dialog in SpoolShare starts with a single field: the product URL.
Paste the link you bought the spool from, hit Autofill, and the form fills itself.
Supported shops
Autofill currently understands product pages from:
- Prusament (prusa3d.com)
- Bambu Lab (bambulab.com)
- Polymaker (us.polymaker.com)
- Filament PM / Plasty Mladeč (filament-pm.cz)
- eSUN (esun3d.com)
- Alza / Alzament (alza.cz)
The little info icon next to the field always shows the current list. Any other link still saves fine as a plain reference - you just fill the fields yourself.
What happens behind the scenes
The server fetches the page once and tries progressively richer sources:
- Structured product data
- The shop's embedded variant list
- Page titles and heuristics
That is how one paste can yield brand, material, colour name - and, when the shop exposes it, the exact colour swatch.
When a page lists many variants (Bambu Lab is famous for this), SpoolShare shows a picker so you choose the one on your shelf instead of guessing.
From colour names to a palette
A colour name like "Blue Grey" or "stříbrná" is mapped to a representative hex, so the spool lands in your catalogue with a believable ring - and the whole page can sort by hue, like a palette.
Compound names win over plain ones, so Blue Grey stays blue-grey instead of collapsing into grey.
Want pixel-perfect colours? Premium adds photos with an eyedropper: photograph the spool, tap the plastic, and that exact shade becomes the spool's colour.
One habit worth keeping
Paste the variant URL when the shop has one per colour - it carries the most precise data.
And if your favourite manufacturer is missing from the list, tell us; adding a shop is usually a small change.
